The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows

I caught this on Facebook this morning, and wanted to keep the link around. Who knew there were words for all of these feelings?

Favorites:
Vellichor
(n) The strange wistfulness of used bookshops.

Jouska
(n) A hypothetical conversation that you compulsively play out in your head.

Sonder
(n) The realization that each passerby has a life as vivid and complex as your own

Language is just cool.

love it!

I don't want to discourage you from blogging these things (because then I can find them too, lol), but I'll also tell you that FB has a new "save" feature. If you see a link posted, you can click the little triangle at the top right and one of the options will be "save link"...it will put everything you save into a little folder you can access from the sidebar of your main FB page. :-)
